LAS VEGAS, NV (December 4, 2018) – Rising lightweight contender Ladarius Miller (17-1, 5 KOs) will look to make a statement when he returns to the ring to face Dominican Republic’s Ricardo Garcia (14-3-1, 9 KOs) in the main event of Sin City Showdown on Friday, December 7th, from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.

Coverage from the event will be streamed on Facebook Live at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET and also features talented prospects Xavier Martinez vs. Arturo Santos-Reyes, Ronald Gavril, Angelo Leo, Leduan Barthelemy, Rolando Romero, Richardson Hitchins, Sanjarbek Rakhmanov, Ava Knight, Dylan Price, and Kenny Robles all in separate bouts.

Here is what the fighters had to say about their respective training camps:

How is training camp going? Have you made any recent adjustments to your camp?

Ladarius Miller: “Training camp has been going good. I’ve been training with Rafael Ramos at Mayweather Boxing Club. We’ve been working hard, getting some good sparring in with my fellow stablemates. We’ve been doing a lot more with my strength and conditioning coach, Curtis Henderson, a lot of running and sprints.”

Ricardo Garcia: “I’ve been training at King’s Gym in Reading, Pennsylvania with Hector De Marchena. So far, the training has been going very well. I’ve been putting a lot of work in at the gym. When fight night comes I’ll be ready to put on a spectacle and go out the big door. I’ve been training in the early mornings, in the cold, to build up more resistance.”

What is your game plan going into this fight?

LM: “To attack the body, stay behind my jab. The guy I’m fighting is a pressure fighter so a lot of the times you want to go to the body early when you fight guys who like to pressure and try to take some of their energy out early. It’s a 10-round fight, so I have to stay behind my jab and be aware to throw body shots, stay on my toes, and move around the ring.”

RG: “I am a technical fighter and I don’t think my opponent has a similar fight style as me, I have to be prepared to throw a lot more punches.”

What do you know about your opponent?

LM: “I know that he is a seasoned fighter, and has a record of 14-3-1, 9 KOs so he has a little bit of power. I know he likes to stay in close and likes to try and make it a rough fight, so with that being said it is my job that will control the distance, the range, and the pace of the fight.”

RG: “From what I’ve seen is that he’s a passive fighter that doesn’t throw a lot of punches and he’s not an explosive puncher.”

What can a win from this fight do for your career?

LM: “Keep it going forward in the right direction. I’m coming off of a good year in the past 2017 and I’ve been doing good this 2018. I want to continue to build off of it and keep my winning streak going to close out my year and be in a better position for 2019.”

RG: “A victory from this fight is very important for my career because it will help become known in Las Vegas where I have never fought before. I know that a lot of people will be present that will open a lot of doors for me in the future.”

What will be next for your career after December 7th?

LM: “It’s all about what my manager and promoters want to do. We have to sit down and talk and see what the next step is out there for me, the next best decision. It’s all about the fighter and having his best interest, as far as the next big thing for his career.”

RG: “After the fight I’ll head right back to the gym and continue training.”
