LAS VEGAS (Oct. 21, 2017) – After a year off to recover from a torn Achilles injury, Lightweight contender Sharif Bogere was able to gain a unanimous decision win over Jose Rodriguez.

Both fighters took the first few rounds to gauge each other with few punches being exchanged. Bogere got comfortable toward the middle rounds, trying to pick his shots against Rodriguez. The rounds maintained a steady pace, Bogere’s plan was to fight strategic, while Rodriguez left few opportunities for Bogere to land his shots and put combinations together. The pace picked up in the final rounds where Bogere tried to pin his opponent on the ropes and force exchanges. After an accidental head butt to Rodriguez, Bogere picked up his pace and finished the 10th round strong, leading the judges to a unanimous decision to Bogere.

“I didn’t perform like myself, but I am glad I got the win, says Bogere. This fight allowed me to see what I need to work on. I am back and wanted to make a bigger statement. I just gotta get back in the gym and come back stronger next time.”

The co-main event between Las Vegas’ Cameron Krael and Mexico’s Shoki Sakai was a full out 8-round Welterweight slugfest. It was war from the first bell; Krael and Sakai exchanged blows in the early rounds never letting up and continued their momentum throughout the fight. Sakai landed a series of combinations on 23-year-old Krael toward the end of the first round, but Krael didn’t back down firing back with uppercuts that eventually left Sakai with a cut above his right eye.

Leading into the middle rounds, it was an even exchange of jabs and sharp power shots between both warriors. Sakai kept the pressure on, but Krael retaliated with clean body shots. Both fighters kept the pressure on round-by-round with neither backing down. The 8-round brawl lead to the judges scoring the bout a majority draw.

“I felt that I landed the cleaner punches, says Krael.” I trained for this fight, sparring with the toughest opponents knowing this wasn’t going to be an easy fight, in the end I felt I landed the cleaner punches. I’m going to get back in the gym and work on my jab and really standing on my punches.”

“He was tough, I can’t take that from him, said Sakai.” I felt I was the better puncher during this fight. Even though I didn’t win, we gave the fans a great show and I’ll be ready for my next fight.”

Leading up the main event, The Sin City Showdown undercard bouts saw excitement with back-to-back knockouts and non-stop action. The opening bout was a 4-round Lightweight battle between undefeated Mayweather Promotions’ fighter Andres Cortes vs. Thomas Herrera. Cortes landed his shots and was able to get Herrera out with a fourth round TKO in the final seconds in the 4th round.

Las Vegas “knockout artist,” Rolando Romero remains undefeated coming out on top with a 2nd round knockout, landing a clean body shot that left Estrada laid out on the canvas and unable to continue the fight.

Leading up to the co-main event was a battle with Uzbekistan’s Sanjarbek “War” Rakhmanov who came out victorious with a unanimous decision win over Pomona’s James Delperdang in 10 rounds of hard-hitting action.
